🌿 P1 Social and Religious Studies (SRS)

Welcome to the Primary 1 Social and Religious Studies Program!
This course introduces young learners to their first understanding of family, community, God’s creation, national identity, behaviour, and personal hygiene. Through songs, stories, drawings, role-play, and simple discussions, children learn how to live peacefully with others, show respect, take care of themselves, and appreciate their surroundings.

From naming family members to recognizing national symbols and understanding good behaviours, learners develop social awareness and moral values in an engaging, age-appropriate way.

📘 What Learners Will Explore

• Family and home: nuclear family, roles of family members, family property, family historical events

• Community & local leadership: village leaders, their duties, and community organization

• God’s creation: creation story, differences between humans and other creatures, importance of creation

• National identity: national anthem, motto, flag, colours, and coat of arms

• School life: school leaders, their roles, school symbols, school surroundings and rules

• Prayers: meaning, times for prayer, importance of prayer

• Personal hygiene: body care, clean clothes, cleanliness at home and school

• Living in harmony: honesty, respect, peaceful living, sharing

• Politeness: table manners, respectful speech, good conduct

• Transport and communication: types of roads, importance of roads, communication tools
