✍️📑 Academic Writing, Editing & Dissertation Formatting
Welcome to Academic Writing, Editing & Dissertation Formatting, the final quality-assurance course in the GDG Research Academy. This course helps learners transform a completed research document into a clear, coherent, academically written, consistently edited, and professionally formatted dissertation.
A dissertation may contain strong research and valid findings but still require substantial improvement if the writing is unclear, the chapters are poorly connected, formatting is inconsistent, or important preliminary and supplementary sections are incomplete. This course therefore focuses on the final stage of academic preparation: reviewing, editing, formatting, checking, and preparing the dissertation for submission.
Learners will develop practical skills in academic language, paragraph development, coherence, grammar, tense consistency, active and passive voice, structural editing, proofreading, tables and figures, preliminary pages, pagination, appendices, and final document quality control.
The course is designed to help learners edit their own work systematically rather than relying only on automated grammar tools or superficial proofreading.
